PURPOSE: A tunnel safety warning device and method are provided to automatically receive tunnel disaster preventing information and to transfers the tunnel disaster preventing information to an operator.;CONSTITUTION: An FM signal output sensing unit(130) scans an FM frequency band. A central control unit(140) establishes an action mode as an FM mode by turning on the power supply of a head unit. The central control unit compares tunnel data with a GPS coordinate which is received in real time and determines tunnel entry whether or not. The central control unit selects a first signal among FM signals and transmits the first signal to a speaker(180).
