PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for diagnosing the defects of rotation machinery using a support vector machine is provided to enable a person unskilled to diagnose defects on rotation machinery using a specific vector and SVM algorithm.;CONSTITUTION: A method for diagnosing the defects of rotation machinery using a support vector machine is as follows. Signals are measured using multiple acceleration sensors and displacement sensors installed in components of rotation machinery(20). The signals are pre-processed to extract specific values from the measured signals. Specific vectors are computed from the extracted specific values(30).
