PURPOSE: A device for assuming metal position in a rolling process is provided to support a rolling process that requires information on metal position by accurately measuring the metal position from dynamic properties of slip of metal.;CONSTITUTION: A device for assuming metal position in a rolling process comprises a metal position tracking unit(2), a metal slip observing unit(1), and a metal position compensating unit(3). The metal position tracking unit receives the speed of a roller table, a metal detection signal, and a load-relay detection signal and calculates the position of metal. The metal slip observing unit receives the roller table speed and calculates a metal position error caused by slip. The metal position compensating unit compensates the position of metal by subtracting the metal position error from the metal position input from the metal position tracking unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
