CONTROL SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR PREVENTING SIDE IMPACT OF AUTOMATIC DRIVING VEHICLE CAPABLE OF PREVENTING DAMAGE BY CONTACTING TO PROJECTED OBSTACLES FROM SIDE
PURPOSE: A control system and a method for preventing side impact of automatic driving vehicle are provided to select final command by calculating and comparing steering angle and critical steering angle, thereby preventing side impact due to projected obstacles from side.;CONSTITUTION: A control system for preventing side impact of automatic driving vehicle comprises a distance sensing unit(120), a steering angle sensing means(130), and a controller(140). The distance sensing unit is installed the side of a vehicle, and senses gap between the side of a vehicle and a side obstacle. The distance sensing unit comprises ultrasonic sensors. The steering angle sensing means calculates the steering angle of a vehicle steering unit(110). The steering angle sensing means comprises steering angle sensors. The controller uses gap information input from the distance sensing unit, and steering angle information input from the steering angle sensing means.
