POLYESTER YARN USED IN AN AIR BAG FABRIC AND A METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A polyester yarn used in an air bag fabric is provided to remarkably lower stiffness and to ensure excellent toughness, tear strength, and edge comb resistance.;CONSTITUTION: A polyester yarn for an air bag(124) contains 200 ppm or less of inorganic filler of TiO_2, SiO_2, or BaSO_4. The inherent viscosity and crystallinity of the polyester yarn is 0.8 dl/g or more and 42%-52%, respectively. The total fineness and the filament number of the polyester yarn is 0.5-20 deniers and 50-240. A method for fabricating the polyester grey comprises: a step of melting-spinning polyester polymers at 270-300 Deg.C to prepare polyester undrawn fibers; and a step of drawing the polyester undrawn fibers.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
