PURPOSE: A digital device which can access a broadcast network and an IP network and a control method thereof are provided to supply a protocol with which the digital device can quickly access an Internet service.;CONSTITUTION: A digital device tunes a first channel(S702). The digital device receives and decodes an NIT(Network Information Table)(S703). The digital device decodes an LCN_descriptor in the NIT. The digital device adds a first Internet service channel number to a channel DB(S704). When Internet connection is possible and broadband_LCN_descriptor exists in the NIT, the digital device decodes broadband_LCN_descriptor(S705~S707).
