PURPOSE: A method for generating terahertz waves using laser plasma and an apparatus thereof are provided to change the frequency spectrum of tera-herts waves by forming spatial slope having plasma density. CONSTITUTION: A laser generator(410) irradiates a beam convergence means(421) installed within a vacuum chamber(420) with high-intensity laser beams. The vacuum chamber receives predetermined gas through a gas control part(430). The gas control part comprises gas pipe(431) and a gas valve(433) controlling the inflow of the predetermined gas A vacuum pump(440) controls the pressure of the vacuum chamber. A division optical unit(450) reflects laser beams to a beam dump(460). The beam dump receives the laser beams reflected through the division optical unit.
