The apparatus has a receiving device (1) in which interconnected solar cells (11) are located. An illuminating device (3) locally illuminates the light receiving portion of a semi-finished photovoltaic material (10) of solar cell. A contact device (20) connected with measuring unit for determining and processing the measurement data, electrically contacts the semi-finished photovoltaic material. The contact device comprises several contact elements (21) that contact the solar cells respectively. An independent claim is included for method for spatially-resolved inline-measurement of current-voltage characteristics of semi-finished photovoltaic material for solar cells.
