The module (1) has a carrier (4) comprising solar cells (2), and connection devices (6a, 6b) for electrically contacting the cells. The connection devices enclose an edge section (10) of the carrier for electrically contacting and mechanically holding the module. The connection devices have a U-shaped cross-section, and connected with the carrier by a snap-in-place clamping. The connection devices are electrically connected with one another by a connection cable (16) over a diode (18) i.e. bypass-diode, where the diode is connected with the connection devices over a cable connector (20). An independent claim is also included for a solar system comprising two photovoltaic modules.
