The gas burner (1) has a blower for conveying a gas- or air-mixture and a vortex generating unit (7) in a cylindrical flow path(4) of the gas- or air-mixture, where the flow path is flowed in a combustion zone (5). The flow path is arranged in a closed combustion chamber (6). A heat exchanger (3) is assigned to the gas burner. The mouth of the cylindrical flow path is expanded within the combustion chamber.
