The trailer coupling has a ball neck (22) which is connected with a vehicle body (10) at a vehicle-side end (24). A ball attachment piece (28) is formed at another end (26). The latter end carries a molded coupling ball (30) at the ball attachment piece. A sensor is provided at the ball neck to detect the deformation of the ball attachment piece.
