The method involves setting a target time point (tz) in which a desired power value (Pz) for installation is achieved. One of start modes (M1, M2, M2') is selected, and a time period between a start time (ts) and the target time point is determined. A maximum allowable delay time for the start mode is calculated. A net connecting point of time (T1) is selected, so that a power curve of the start mode is equalized based on a subsequent net connecting point of time. The selected mode or the start mode is carried out for durations of delay time (deltat). An independent claim is also included for a control device for starting up a power-generating system.
