The method involves detecting activation of a brake device of a motor car (105). An airflow (120) through a heat exchanger (110) of a cooling system (100) is enlarged for improving air resistance of the motor car, where the airflow is generated due to movement of the motor car. The heat exchanger is arranged in an airflow channel (115). The airflow is enlarged by opening a closing system arranged in the airflow channel, by deactivating a recuperator for recovering electrical power from the airflow or by driving a fan (135).
