The cell (1) has a cell housing (G) formed of two housing side walls (1.1, 1.2). An electrically insulating frame (1.3) i.e. plastic frame, is arranged between the side walls. An electro-chemically active electrode stack is arranged inside the cell housing. The frame comprises a filling opening for filling the inside of the cell housing with electrolyte liquid. A free space i.e. channel, is formed between the frame and the electrode stack, where the electrode stack is directed toward an inner side of the frame at which the filling opening is formed.
