The cell (Z) has a cell housing comprising electrically conductive enveloping metal sheets (1, 2) arranged parallely opposite to each other. Pole contact pins (4.1) of an electrode stack (4) are connected with the metal sheets in an electrically conductive manner. An electrically insulating frame (3) is formed at one of the metal sheets, arranged in a region of a circulating edge (R) of the housing and has a recess (A) arranged in a region of one of the pins so that the pins are connected with the metal sheet in an electrically conductive manner. The frame is made of a thermoplastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a single cell.
