The method involves detecting state change of driver's door (2L), a front passenger door (2R), rear doors (3R, 3L) and a luggage compartment door (3H) of a motor car (1) from closed state to opened state. Light emission of left headlights (5L, 6L), right headlights (5R, 6R), side lights (7L, 7R), left rear lights (8L-10L) and right rear lights (8R-10R) is directed to an outer region of the car and changed based on the state change of the doors, where the lights are arranged outside the doors and designed as parking lamps or parking light function providing lamps. The doors are designed as sliding doors, folding doors, wing doors or cross sill retractable doors. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle comprising a control device.
