The method involves pivoting or actuating a complex light source (26) i.e. LED, based on temperature of a light module (14) and/or temperature distribution in a headlight interior part. The light source is pivoted around axes (34, 36). A diaphragm of an optical system (24) is pivoted based on the temperature and/or temperature distribution in the interior part. The temperature is detected by a temperature sensor attached at the module or the interior part. Curves and/or parameter for pivoting the module are determined by a temperature model of the module in a motor vehicle headlight (10). An independent claim is also included for a control device for a motor vehicle headlight.
