The method involves detecting absorption or emission of electrical energy of electrical components (14, 24) i.e. electric machines, of a motor car (10), where the motor car comprises an electrical energy store (20) for supplying the electrical energy to the components. The detected absorption or emission of the energy is displayed by a displaying unit (28). The components are selected based on the displayed absorption or emission of the energy, where the displayed absorption or emission of the electrical energy is combined with range estimation or accessibility estimation of a target. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for determining an electrical energy balance in a motor car (2) a motor vehicle drive train comprising an electric drive.
