The method involves displaying whether one of two free cooking chambers is loaded with goods to be cooked using a display device (1), which includes a LED (3), under interconnection of a control device based on requirement of an operating device. A rank order for the free cooking chamber is displayed if the two free cooking chambers are loaded with the goods to be cooked. A parameter is determined depending on cooking quality of the goods. Determination of a load, a caliber and/or an initial condition of the goods is displayed during a working step. An independent claim is also included for a cooking appliance including a cooking chamber.
