The gear box carrier (1) has a base part (2) and a rigid upper section (3) made of polymer or polymer composite material and arranged relative to the base part. The gear box carrier is dimensioned such that the upper section breaks while the base part is plastically deformed during accident. Recesses are arranged in a driving direction on right and left sides of the upper section. Screws are inserted via the recesses and screwed with the body in an area of a tunnel such that the gear box carrier is in closed form within the tunnel, and a gear box is rearwardly displaced during the accident.
