The unit has a support plate (1) i.e. metal sheet, with construction increasing bending stiffness, and a core (2) made of a heat-insulating material such as foamed plastic, on the support plate. A photovoltaic element i.e. solar module, is formed on the core, and lines (3) for a cooling medium i.e. water, cool the photovoltaic element in the core. The support plate has wave shape in cross section, and multiple pipes made of metal or plastic are designed as the lines and spaced and arranged parallel to each other.
