The torque transfer device has a component from which a torque is transmitted on another component. An energy storage unit is arranged in a torque transmission path between the two components. A friction unit is provided which comprises two friction elements (7). The former friction element has two friction element ends, in which a tensile force is introduced. The latter friction element has a peripheral surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a torque transfer device.
