The device (1) has a pulley freewheel (3) comprising a primary component (4) connected with a driven shaft (2) i.e. crankshaft. A pulley-side secondary component (5) is connected with an actuator (6), and friction elements (7, 7') are arranged between the actuator and the primary component. The friction elements comprise dents (8, 8') that are continuous in direction of the actuator. The dents are symmetrically arranged at two sides of the actuator. The actuator is supported in a rotatable device (11) that is rotatably connected with the primary component.
