Process for integral ventilation grille in molded panels

A fiber-reinforced panel is produced that includes an integral ventilation grille. Openings are formed in each of a first and a second fibrous web and the openings are aligned with each other when the webs are stacked within a mold. A grid material is disposed between the first and second webs such that a portion of the grid material aligned with the apertures in the first web and the second web is exposed. Filler inserts are inserted into the openings of the first and second webs to mask the grid. A resin is provided and cured to interconnect the first and second webs and the grid. Thus, the grid remains exposed after the first and second webs and the grid are bonded together by the resin to thereby form a fiber reinforced board having an integrally molded ventilation grille therein.
