A method of making a fiber reinforced panel (12) for enclosing an integral ventilation grid (16), comprising: providing at least a first fibrous web (20); at least one second fiber web (34) is provided; openings (24, 36) are formed in the first and second webs, which will each be aligned with each other when the webs (20, 34) are stacked together; the first web (20) is placed in a mold (58), the mold (58) having a lower forming surface (60) on which the first web (20) rests and a raised insert (66) extending from the mold surface (60) rises and extends through the opening (24) in the first web (20); a web of grid material (50) having openings (52) therein is provided and the web of grid material (50) is disposed on top of the first web (20) and the insert (66); the second web (34) is placed on top of the web of grid material (50), the opening (36) in the second web (34) being aligned with the opening (24) in the first web (20); a resin is provided, wherein the resin is cured so that the first and second webs (20, 34) are joined together, the web being interposed therebetween of the mesh material (50) and within the aligned apertures (24, 36) first and second tracks (20, 34) are exposed to provide an integral ventilation grid; and an annular decorative trim ring (100) is provided and disposed around the insert (66) on the mold (58) prior to placing the first panel (20) in the mold (58) such that after the resin has set, the trim ring (100) 100) adheres to the first panel (20) to surround the opening (24) in the first panel (20).
