Antioxidant composition comprises at least one extract of aerial parts of nettle, an extract of Ascophyllum thalli, an extract of acerola and ascorbic acid. Independent claims are included for: (1) functional food comprising the composition; (2) #a cosmetic product comprising the antioxidant composition; (3) #a preparation of the composition comprising carrying a polar solvent extraction from the extracts of aerial parts of nettle, Ascophyllum thalli, and fruit of Malpighia punicifolia, to obtain a nettle extract comprising 0.05-50 wt.% of polyphenols, extract of Ascophyllumcontaining 1-70 wt.% of polyphenols, and acerola extract containing 1-80 wt.% of vitamin C.
