The method involves recording calendar data of a driver of a vehicle with data for planned travel for the vehicle (30). Distance to be traveled by the vehicle in a future predetermined period is determined (20) according to the planned travel during same predetermined period. Charging stations accessible by the vehicle during planned travel are determined (21) according to a charge state of a battery. A charging condition of the battery is determined (22) according to predetermined calculation and strategy rules (50). An independent claim is also included for a system for determining a position and charging condition of a battery of a vehicle.
