PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the breakage of a return spring without stopping a throttle motor during the traveling of a vehicle.;SOLUTION: A throttle control system includes a throttle valve 130 for regulating an air amount supplied to an engine 100, a throttle motor 131 for operating the throttle valve 130, a return spring 134 for imparting, to the throttle valve 130, a pressing force for returning the throttle valve 130 to an opener opening which is set in advance so that limp home traveling becomes possible, and an ECU 2 for controlling the throttle valve 130 by driving the throttle motor 131. The target throttle opening of the throttle valve 130 is determined, requested drive torque expressed by the sum of proportional terms, integral terms, and differential terms is calculated so that the target throttle opening matches the throttle opening, and PID control is performed.
