PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery in which the initial charge and discharge irreversible capacity is sufficiently small even if an active material layer that has a negative electrode material on a current collector is highly densified for higher capacity, and which has superior electric discharge load characteristics, charge receiving characteristics, and cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a composite graphite particle for a nonaqueous secondary battery in which a graphite particle and a carbonaceous or graphitic material are compounded, includes: a step 1 in which a graphite particle and a graphitizable binder are mixed with each other; a step 2 in which a mixture obtained in the step 1 is molded under pressure; and a step 3 in which a molded product obtained in the step 2 is calcined.
