PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a life prediction method and system for predicting life of a catalyst in a deoxygenation apparatus of a refined gas, capable of quantitatively calculating a whole amount of the catalyst in an oxygen-removal catalyst column outliving its usefulness and needing the exchange after a predetermined operation period of the deoxygenation apparatus of the refined gas.;SOLUTION: The life prediction method and system includes a catalyst life calculation step in which a whole amount of the catalyst in the oxygen-removal catalyst column 8 outliving its usefulness and needing the exchange after the predetermined operation period is calculated from the relationship of a whole amount of sulfur, a previously determined whole amount of sulfur and the whole amount of the catalyst in the oxygen-removal catalyst column 8 outliving its usefulness, the whole amount of sulfur being calculated by adding up, in a predetermined period, values of ((refined gas flow amount X)×(sulfur concentration Y)), which is obtained by multiplying the refined gas flow amount X measured by a flowmeter 20 by the sulfur concentration Y measured by a sulfur concentration analyzer 30.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
