PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation composition which rapidly creates anaerobic conditions and preferentially proliferate bacteria concerning the reductive dechlorination reaction of organochlorine compounds. PSOLUTION: The cultivation composition is employed for being added to a substance to be treated for purifying the substance to be treated contaminated by organochlorine compounds with anaerobic bacteria having decomposition activity of the organochlorine compounds, and contains methanol, citric acid and a skim milk powder as main components.
