PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide surface plasmon polaritrons coupled (integrated) with a surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) setup, and also provide a resonator structure applicable to waveguide-integrated resonators therein.;SOLUTION: A resonator structure 100 includes a metal-insulator-metal waveguide comprising two metal layers 110 and 130 and an insulating layer 120 between the two metal layers 110 and 130. The resonator structure 100 further includes at least one nanoscale metallic reflector 160a and 160b positioned at least partly in the insulating layer 120 and forming at least one mirror of the resonating cavity in the insulating layer 120.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
