PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship having an air blowout chamber for blowing air in water, while enabling easy inspection and maintenance, and to provide a maintenance method of the ship.SOLUTION: The ship includes: the air blowout chambers 131P and 131S that blow the air from the bottom of a ship fore part of a hull to reduce frictional resistance between the hull and seawater; watertight compartments 121P and 121S including the air blowout chambers 131P and 131S; watertight access trunks 61P and 61S that are connected with the watertight compartments 121P and 121S; and watertight manholes 66P and 66S for a person to enter or exit from the access trunks 61P and 61S. The watertight compartments 121P and 121S are installed in a position lower than a draft line DLWL. The watertight manholes 66P and 66S are installed in a position higher than the draft line DLWL.
