PURPOSE: A device and a method for managing remote maintenance are provided to monitor major systems of ship and provide the time point of changing component of main equipment in advance, thereby maintaining ship in superior state.;CONSTITUTION: An information collecting module unit collects state information monitored about ship and ship material. A DB stores the collected state information. An analysis module unit(104) performs analyzing comparison of predetermined life cycle with the stored state information. An inference engine unit(106) inferences comparison analyzed information to predict life cycle of the ship and the ship material.
