PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of heating or cooling an aqueous hydrogen chloride solution (A) containing chlorine in a large amount by using a heat exchanger (1) without changing the properties of its heating surfaces.;SOLUTION: In the method, the heating surfaces of the heat exchanger (1) are comprised of fluororesin-impregnated carbon. Usually, chlorine concentration of the aqueous hydrogen chloride solution (A) is ≥0.2 mass%. The heat exchanger (1) is a block (11) constituted of the fluororesin-impregnated carbon within a housing (14), and the block type heat exchanger (1) formed by arranging the block (11) provided with aqueous hydrogen chloride solution flow passages (12) through which the aqueous hydrogen chloride solution (A) flows and heat medium flow passages (13) through which the heat medium (B) flows is used for the heat exchanger (1).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
