PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid occurrence of downtime in an image forming apparatus connected to a network. PSOLUTION: An administrative server 500a comprises: a transmitting/receiving unit 1015 for receiving, via a network 400a, error prediction information relating to fatal error predicted to occur in an image forming apparatus 10a; a program storage unit 1013 storing therein a separation program for separating a behavior of a target unit 1007, relating to the error, to be separated, from operation; and a prolongation-of-life management control unit 1017 for transmitting prolongation-of-life instruction information containing the separation program to the transmitting/receiving unit 1015, while designating the image forming apparatus 10a as a destination, in response to an instruction of an instruction input unit 1012 that is operated when it is judged based on the received error prediction information that a serviceman can not be dispatched for maintenance, before occurrence of the error.
