PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a side collision load supporting structure and a side collision load supporting method of a vehicle body, capable of suppressing the deformation of a side frame and efficiently transmitting a side collision load. PSOLUTION: The side collision load supporting structure comprises the pair of side frames 10S1, 10S2 opposing to each other at vehicular widthwise both side portions in a seatback 4B of a vehicle seat 4, a load transmitting member 12 laid in the vehicular width direction between the side frames 10S1, 10S2, and a center console box 11 provided at a vehicular widthwise center portion on a vehicle body floor 2 and supporting the side collision load inputted in the load transmitting member 12. At a connecting part of a seat reinforcing member 12A and the side frame 10S1, a side frame reinforcing member 14 suppressing the deformation of the side frame 10S1 by the side collision load F is provided.
