PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product failure retrieval system and a method for constructing a product failure data base capable of systematically notifying a plurality of pieces of data as retrieval results. PSOLUTION: The product failure retrieval system has a data base 5 and a retrieval part 4 which retrieves the data base 5. In the data base 5, data 11 describing a phenomenon name of the failure generated in a product, data 13 describing details of a failure phenomenon, data 14 describing a cause of the failure, data 15 describing investigation of the failure and data 16 describing measures of the failure mutually classified and associated with the describing the phenomenon name are registered.
