PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantum phase shift gate device for operating a quantum phase shift gate for a control photon and a target photon which travel on different light paths whose polarization states are unknown.;SOLUTION: The quantum phase shift gate device is provided with: an atom-resonator system for reflecting a photon by changing a phase only by π when an atom system 12 is in an excitation state and transmitting the photon when the atom system 12 is in a ground state g; a means for reflecting the transmitted photon; a laser pulse generation device for performing rotational operation between the ground state g of the atom system and a first excitation state e1; polarization beam splitters 6, 7 for separating or combining an X polarization component and a Y polarization component of the photon; and reflectors 14, 15 for totally reflecting the photon: and constituted so that a laser pulse is applied from a resonator axis direction, and the control photon and the target photon are processed from different input/output portions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
