PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for charging a raw material to a bell-less blast furnace, which can precisely control the particle size distribution of a raw material to be discharged when charging the raw material to a bell-less blast furnace by using a center feed type of a device for charging the raw material, which is provided with an upper hopper and a lower hopper that are connected with each other through a plurality of ports, and to provide a method for charging the raw material thereto.;SOLUTION: The device for charging the raw material to the bell-less blast furnace transfers the raw material in the upper hopper 1 to the lower hopper 6 via the port 4 by switching the port 4 while using the upper hopper 1 and the lower hopper 6 connected with each other through the plurality of the ports 4, and charging the raw material in the lower hopper 6 to the blast furnace. The lower hopper 6 has tilted plates 10 installed in positions on which each raw material drops from the upper hopper 1. The tilted plate 10 has a slope in such a direction as to make the raw material which has dropped on the slope drop toward a central direction of the blast furnace.
