PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing silica particles each having a cross-linking functional group, such as an isocyanate group or an epoxy group, useful for binding a biomolecule or the other to the silica particle.;SOLUTION: This invention relates to the method for producing the silica particles having cross-linking functional groups on the surfaces of the particles, characterized by comprising: adding a cross-linking compound having two or more cross-linking functional groups to a silica particle dispersion dispersed in an aprotic solvent; and covalently bonding the cross-linking compound to the surfaces of the silica particles to make at least one unreacted cross-linking functional group among the two or more cross-linking functional groups exist on the surfaces of the particles.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
