The invention relates to an electronic system for guiding aircrafts while performing arrested landing on aircraft carrier tracks by using an arrester hook. According to the invention, the system comprises an electronic infra-red viewing device (D. E.) with the acuity limited to a narrow ( acute) cone installed at the entrance on the landing track, a cone whose (virtual) axis has an angular height which is in fact the angle of the optimal glide slope angle for the approach to landing, the electronic device (D.E) being able to ascertain the position of the infrared source, more to the left, more to the right, higher or lower in relation to the axis of the viewing cone, said ascertained position being taken over continuously and sent continuously from an emitter (E) to a radio receiver (R) located on board of the aircraft, said positions, which are also continuously received and decoded, are applied on the signal grid of a display and, as result, a luminous point comes into sight on the display screen, the luminous point representing the position of the aircraft in relation to the pre-established landing slope, the pilot being able to easily handle the aircraft on a correct slope until the aircraft flattens out and the hook engages the arresting wire.
