The transmitter/receiver comprises reception beam formation units (104 1 - 104M) and transmission beam formation units (113 1 - 113J). A transmission beam selector (109) selects a reception beam of excellent overall reception quality and a transmission beam of beam direction same as the beam direction of selected reception beam.
