A reliability level acquisition device is provided with: a unit that, if applied to an image, stores information of an identification device that outputs a part trait related to a specified part of an item for detection; a unit that on the basis of the information of the identification device, finds the part trait for an image area contained in an input image; a unit that on the basis of the found part trait, determines the position of a specified part in the input image; a unit that stores information about a reference position for the specified part; a unit that on the basis of the reference position information, finds difference information that indicates the difference between the reference position and the determined position of the specified part; and a unit that on the basis of the difference information, finds a reliability level that indicates the likelihood of the input image being an image for detection.
