Method for manufacturing a motor vehicle component and motor vehicle component produced according to the method

Producing motor vehicle hybrid component with a metallic base body and a reinforcing patch (8) made of fiber composite material, comprises: producing the base body as a three-dimensional molded automotive component; providing at least one layer, preferably at least three layers made of fiber material, which are stacked, and are pre-impregnated with resin, and/or are applied with a resin; placing the stack of fiber composite material in the motor vehicle component; molding the composite material into the fiber motor vehicle component; and applying a metallic layer on the fiber material. Producing motor vehicle hybrid component with a metallic base body and a reinforcing patch (8) made of fiber composite material, comprises: producing the base body as a three-dimensional molded automotive component; providing at least one layer, preferably at least three layers made of fiber material, which are stacked, and are pre-impregnated with resin, and/or are applied with a resin; placing the stack of fiber composite material in the motor vehicle component; molding the composite material into the fiber motor vehicle component for producing the motor vehicle hybrid component; and at least portion-wise applying a metallic layer on the fiber material before-, during- and/or after the molding, where the metallic layer is arranged on the side of the reinforcing patch opposite to the motor vehicle component. An independent claim is also included for the hybrid vehicle component comprising the metallic base body and the reinforcing patch, produced by the above method. The metallic layer is arranged on the reinforcing patch, and the energy absorption capacity of the metallic layer is increased by more than 5%, preferably more than 15%, compared to the conventional hybrid vehicle components.
