The cover (1) has a wrapping element (2) i.e. flexible envelope, made of biodegradable material, impermeable material or elastic material, and including an outer surface (22) and an inner surface that is arranged in contact with a handbag. An elastic closing unit (3) is arranged on the periphery and at the edge of the wrapping element, and closes the wrapping element around the handbag. An outer pocket (4) is arranged on the outer surface of the wrapping element, and an inner pocket is arranged on the inner surface of the wrapping element. The wrapping element is chosen from a group comprising plastic film, non woven fabric or fabric made of synthetic and/or natural fibers.
