PURPOSE: A water repellent processing method of kenaf which is an automobile upholstery material, and the kenaf produced by the same are provided to prevent the generation of mold inside a car. CONSTITUTION: A water repellent processing method of kenaf which is an automobile upholstery material comprises the following steps: soaking kenaf filaments in a skein form into a soaking solution containing a water repellent; and drying the kenaf filaments. The soaking solution contains 95-98wt% of water and 2-5wt% of emulsion water repellent. 100wt% of emulsion water repellent contains 15-18wt% of chloroalkyl acrylate copolymer which is a fluoride based compound, 2-6wt% of tripropylene glycol, 2-3wt% of emulsifier, and the balance of water.
