OUTDOOR CABINET FOR COMMUNICATIONS INCLUDING A THERMOELECTRIC SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An outdoor cabinet for communications is provided to properly adjust an inner temperature of a battery compartment of the outdoor cabinet through thermoelectric cooling in case the temperature is high and to reduce battery purchasing costs and maintenance costs by preventing battery life from being reduced due to a high temperature, thereby manufacturing an environment-friendly outdoor cabinet having a simple structure without using a refrigerant.;CONSTITUTION: An outdoor cabinet(300) for communications including a thermoelectric system includes a rectifying unit, a battery compartment, and a thermoelectric system(330). The rectifying unit includes a rectifier inside. The battery compartment has a battery for supplying power to the rectifier during a scheduled outage or a power outage. The thermoelectric system installed in an external wall of the battery compartment or inside the battery compartment controls to maintain a battery temperature to be constant. The thermoelectric system includes a first heat sink, a thermoelectric module, a second heat sink(342), and a thermoelectric unit controller. The first heat sink made of a heat transmitting material has a first fan in an external wall. The thermoelectric module installed in one side of the first heat sink performs heating or thermoelectric cooling for the first heat sink according to a polarity of a supplied current. The second heat sink installed in a different surface of the thermoelectric module absorbs or dissipates generated heat of the thermoelectric module and has a second fan in the external wall. The thermoelectric unit controller controls more than one of the power supply, power supply time, temperature and current direction of the thermoelectric module.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
