PURPOSE: A steel pipe welding device and a welding method thereof are provided to accurately detect a welding position and to control a welding condition according to the welding position independently, thereby obtaining excellent welding quality.;CONSTITUTION: A steel pipe welding device and a welding method thereof includes a transfer rail(10), a carriage(12), a welding torch(14), a power supply unit(16), a wire supplier(18), a weld line tracking unit(20), a drive unit, and a control unit(40). The transfer rail is installed along the outer circumferential surface of a steel pipe(100). The carriage moves along the transfer rail. The welding torch is equipped on the carriage, and welds the steel pipe. The power supply unit supplies welding current to the welding torch. The wire supplier supplies a welding wire to the welding torch. The weld line tracking unit is equipped on the carriage, and accurately detects a position of a weld line(L). The drive unit is installed on the carriage, and transfers the welding torch and the weld line tracking unit. The control unit computes a signal of the weld line tracking unit to control the drive unit according to a correct position of the weld line.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
