PURPOSE: An optical communication module and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce manufacturing costs as an expensive measurement or position fitting jig is not necessary by performing an optical axis alignment with a mechanical position alignment.;CONSTITUTION: An optical communication module(1) comprises an optical device substrate(2), a base substrate(3), and a body tube(4). The optical device substrate includes a printed circuit board(5) in which an optical device(6) is welded at the required position on the printed circuit board, and a driver is installed in order to operate the optical device. The printed circuit board includes a pad(10) for welding the optical device; and multiple via holes(11) used for electrical connection. The via hole has a land of a given width and a penetration hole connecting the outside of a printed wiring board. The optical device has the size of 250μm. The body tube is not arranged at a preset reference position and is determined in order to fit the central axis of the body tube to the produced optical device arrangement based on the actually measured value in a process of welding the body tube to the optical device substrate.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
